There are no trophies for perfect holidays

My residency program's newsletter had an excellent list of how to embrace your needs during the holiday season. I wanted to include it here, because this time of year is notoriously difficult for many people.

December was historically a rollercoaster for me. Over the years, I've been chipping away at my expectations. At one point in my life, I chipped so far that I didn't want to do anything for Christmas, instead preferring to work as much as possible.

Now, because of my son, we're working on building new traditions that work for our family, with the main goal of spending time together.

Hang in there over the holiday season - you deserve to celebrate or not celebrate in whatever way suits you.

Stay well friends,

Dr. Kuhnow
